The National -- UAE football supporters have been offered free tickets for the Asian Cup semi-final following the national team's good run in the tournament.

The tickets, for the semi-final against Qatar, were being given out starting today at 10am to “loyal” UAE fans, but are now sold out in Sharjah, Dubai, Fujairah, Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah.

Blue flags will fly from beaches across Dubai after many met international environmental standards on cleanliness, some for the first time.

Globally recognised flags to mark a beach’s quality and a haven for safe swimming are now in place at Jumeirah 1, 2 and 3 beaches and Umm Suqeim 1 and 2 beaches.
