Emirates firms up orders for 36 A380s worth US$ 16 billion

Dubai, UAE, 11 February 2018 – Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, today signed a contract for 20 additional A380 aircraft and 16 options, firming up the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was announced in January. The total agreement for 36 aircraft is valued at US$16 billion based on latest list prices. Deliveries are to start as early as 2020.

The 356 metre high Gevora Hotel in Dubai, the world's tallest as a single building, will open to guests on February 12. Barely a metre taller than the previous tallest hotel, the 355m, 77-floor JW Marriott Marquis, the 528-room hotel is situated at 101 Sheikh Zayed Road, next the 333-metre Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, a previous holder of the record. The National -- The buffer that allows motorists to travel at 20kph more than the advertised speed limit is set to be phased out on a number of Abu Dhabi roads, in a move welcomed by road safety campaigners.

KAZINFORM -- Starting March 10, 2018, citizens of Kazakhstan will need no visas to travel to the United Arab Emirates, Kazinform cites the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kazakhstan.
