The emirate saw inflow of 241,000 Chinese tourists in the first half of 2015

Dubai reported a 25 per cent increase in guest arrivals from China in the first six months of 2015 compared to same period last year. The city received 241,000 Chinese tourists in the first of the year as Dubai beefed up efforts to increase the inflow of tourists from the East Asian country.

Sheikh Mohammed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was in Russia for the International Aviation and Space Show, Maks 2015, and to discuss relations with Mr Putin.

Emirates to embark on the world’s longest non-stop westerly flight

Emirates Airline has launched the world's longest non-stop flight, with its new service between its home base of Dubai to Panama City expected to take 17 hours and 35 minutes.

The flight, which will kick off in February 2016, will be on a Boeing 777 200LR – the world's longest-range jetliner - in a three-class layout; eight seats in first class, 42 in business, and 216 in economy.

Starwood signs four Dubai hotels with Dubai properties

US-based hotel chain Starwood has signed an agreement with property developer Dubai Properties to open four hotels in Dubai under its mid-scale brands Aloft and Element. The hotels, which are set to open in 2018, will feature 816 rooms altogether, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
