'Flame of Hope' for Special Olympics World Games lit in Athens

In a ceremony in the Greek capital, the torch for the games, branded "the Flame of Hope" was lit before it was taken on a tour of Athens.

The torch will be transported on an Etihad Airways flight to the UAE, where it will land on Thursday afternoon, before being taken to Ras Al Khaimah to begin the torch run.

Emirati astronauts undergo winter survival training in Russia

Seen for the first time, pictures have been released of the two Emirati astronauts, Hazza Al Mansouri and Sultan Al Neyadi, undergoing winter survival training.

The three-day training was organised by the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Zvezdini at a forest in the Russian capital Moscow. It prepared the astronauts to survive in harsh winter conditions ahead of a trip to the International Space Station later this year in case of a crash landing in a hostile environment.

High-end brand Bvlgari is slated to give Roman archaeological site Largo di Argentina a makeover. The line – which has produced jewellery and luxury goods since the late 20th-century – will fork over a reported €800,000 to restore the ancient ruins.
