Abu Dhabi imposes municipality fee on hotel stays from 1 june

The National, quoting sister paper Al Ittihad, reported that the fees would be collected by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority. Hotels in the city already charge a city tax of 6% and a 10% service charge.

The newspaper said it was not yet clear whether the new fee would be applied to all customers or just guests.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) will soon launch a 200MW Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plant at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the second phase of a project that aims to generate 1,000MW of clean electricity by 2030, according to the head of the authority.
