Emirates Airline is continuing its ambitious growth strategy in 2026, further strengthening its position in the global aviation market. Key priorities include network expansion, fleet modernization, the enhancement of premium services, and the introduction of new onboard dining concepts.

One of the year's major developments will be the launch of daily flights between Dubai and Helsinki from October 1, 2026. The new route will become the only year-round direct air connection between the UAE and Finland and will be operated by Airbus A350 aircraft. The launch is part of Emirates’ strategy to strengthen its presence in Europe while continuing to expand its global network, which now spans more than 140 destinations worldwide.

At the same time, the airline is implementing the largest fleet modernization program in its history, valued at approximately $5 billion. In 2026, Emirates will begin the next phase of upgrades for 111 Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. The refurbished aircraft will feature redesigned cabin interiors, upgraded seats, next-generation Panasonic Astrova inflight entertainment systems, and enhanced onboard connectivity, delivering a higher level of comfort on long-haul routes.

Another key area of focus is the development of Emirates’ premium offering. The airline continues to expand the number of routes served by Premium Economy cabins, a product positioned between Economy and Business Class that is experiencing growing demand among travelers. Emirates is also further enhancing its First and Business Class experience, with a strong emphasis on personalized service, high-quality dining, and digital solutions that improve every stage of the passenger journey.

Significant changes are also taking place in the airline’s onboard dining program. As part of the Veganuary initiative, Emirates has announced plans to develop a new generation of vegan meals based on whole plant-based ingredients and a farm-to-table philosophy.

Instead of relying on artificial meat substitutes and ultra-processed products, Emirates chefs are focusing on legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, and seasonal vegetables. The menu draws inspiration from traditional cuisines around the world, including Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Asian, and African culinary traditions.

Today, Emirates offers nearly 500 vegan dishes across its global route network and serves approximately half a million plant-based meals each year. According to the airline, demand is growing not only among vegans but also among passengers seeking lighter and more balanced meal options during their travels.

An additional advantage is the use of fresh leafy greens and vegetables sourced from Bustanica, the world's largest hydroponic vertical farm of its kind, developed in partnership with Emirates Flight Catering.

In 2026, Emirates continues to expand its collaborations with international tourism and cruise companies. Among the key initiatives is the strengthening of partnerships with leading cruise operators to create seamless travel experiences that combine air and sea journeys.

These efforts support Dubai’s broader strategy of reinforcing its position as one of the world’s leading tourism and transportation hubs.

Against a backdrop of growing passenger demand and increasing competition, Emirates is investing across several strategic areas: network expansion, fleet renewal, digital transformation, sustainability, and culinary innovation. This comprehensive approach enables the airline not only to maintain its leadership position in the global aviation market but also to set new standards for quality and service in international air travel.
