Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the 12th Sharjah Light Festival, organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), kicked off tonight (Wednesday, 8 February 2023) and is set to continue until 18 February, covering 13 locations across the Emirate of Sharjah.

Dubai-based label The Giving Movement is joining the UAE, the movement, and the world in providing aid to the victims of the February 6th earthquake by sending 8,000 pieces of TGM clothing to Turkey for immediate relief. The donations will include clothing essentials as thousands lost their homes in the midst of winter: hoodies, jackets, sweaters joggers, T-shirts, socks, shackets, windbreakers, and more. The package includes pieces of all sizes for women, men, children, and babies.

UAE residents have come together in large numbers to send relief items for thoseimpacted by the deadly earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

The Turkish Consulate in Dubai along with the Turkish Business Council and Turkish Airlines started a collection drive on Tuesday to send supplies.

Fatma Emrem, President of the Turkish Business Council, said the first collection drivebegan on Tuesday morning and will run till 8pm on Wednesday.

UAE petrol and diesel prices to increase in February

The UAE fuel price committee on Tuesday announced petrol and diesel prices for the month of February, 2023.

Super 98 petrol will cost Dh3.05 a litre, compared to Dh2.78 a litre in January, while Special 95 will cost Dh2.93 a litre, compared to Dh2.67 a litre the previous month.

E-Plus category petrol will be available for Dh2.86 a litre, compared to Dh2.59 a litre in January.

Diesel will now cost Dh3.38 a litre, compared to Dh3.29 a litre the previous month.
