Two Japanese tourists were left stunned after a restaurant in Rome charged them £380 for two plates of spaghetti and fish.

A photograph of a receipt posted to travel review website TripAdvisor shows that the meal for two at Antico Caffè di Marte came to a massive €429.80 (£380). The pair had ordered two plates of fish with spaghetti, alongside glasses of water, The Local reported.

Their bill, however, included an extortionate €80 (£70) service charge.

Eight people died and six others were injured in a horrific road crash involving a minibus and a heavy goods vehicle on one of Dubai's busiest traffic routes.

Dubai Police said the 14-passenger bus rammed into the lorry, which was stopped on the hard shoulder.

The minibus driver and seven passengers were declared dead at the scene.

Two passengers sustained serious injuries and four others had moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
