The National -- The UAE’s largest maternity hospital - which handles more than 8,000 births per year - has never seen a child as small as little Sumaya, since it opened in 1977.

The Emirati was born a day short of 23 weeks, weighing 440 grams, or about as much as a courgette.

Dr Hesham Tawakol, a consultant neonatologist, described her birth and recovering as a "miracle".

Gulf News -- Sharjah Police have warned residents against using someone else’s pen when signing cheques as they have registered cases of the ink getting erased and fraudsters presenting the cheques to banks after entering new amounts.

The pens involved are varieties of the Uniball and Frixon brands, police said.

Gulf News -- Two Saudi soldiers were killed in Jeddah after an attack on an external guard post of the Royal Guard, located in front of the western gate of the Peace Palace on Saturday.

A security spokesman of the Ministry of the Interior said the attack happened at 3:15 pm local time on Saturday, when a person began shooting at the post, Al Arabiya reported.
