3 die in attack on Saudi Royal Guard post

Gulf News -- Two Saudi soldiers were killed in Jeddah after an attack on an external guard post of the Royal Guard, located in front of the western gate of the Peace Palace on Saturday.
A security spokesman of the Ministry of the Interior said the attack happened at 3:15 pm local time on Saturday, when a person began shooting at the post, Al Arabiya reported.
Security forces reportedly killed the gunman.

Gulf News -- An Uzbek grandmother and child rendered homeless in Ajman over non-payment of rent were on Wednesday helped by UAE authorities to return to their home country.

Russia said on Wednesday it had killed 12 field commanders of Al Qaeda's former Syria affiliate, adding the group's top leader Abu Mohammed Al Jolani had lost an arm and was in a "critical condition".
