Community service drops traffic-related crimes in Abu Dhabi by 90 per cent

The National -- There has been a 90 per cent drop in traffic-related crimes in Abu Dhabi since the enforcement of community service orders, judicial chiefs have said.

The capital registered 69 traffic cases where offenders performed different community service penalties from March to August.

A group of Asians have been arrested red-handed in Sharjah's Al Dhaid area for preparing expired food and cosmetic products for distribution among consumers. They were caught while changing the date of production and the validity prescribed on product labels.

They stored the goods in the backyard of a warehouse located in Al Dhaid industrial area. Fourteen tonnes of goods were seized and destroyed by Al Dhaid Municipality.
