UAE leads Arab countries in 2016 Global Innovation Index

This year’s Global Innovation Index measured the performance of 128 countries and economies in the area of innovation which represents the majority of the global workforce and global GDP. The index is based on 82 sub-indices which measure innovation in detail and provide a clear understanding of how it drives economic growth and prosperity.

Nakheel and RIU Hotels & Resorts start development of AED900 million beachfront resort at Deira Islands

Nakheel and Spanish hospitality giant, RIU Hotels & Resorts (RIU), today commenced the development of their AED900 million, 800-room joint venture resort and waterpark at Dubai’s Deira Islans. The partners have appointed international consultants Dar Al Handasah to oversee design, engineering and construction supervision of resort – the first all-inclusive 4-star concept in Dubai and RIU’s first property in the GCC.

Emirates adds Guangzhou to its global list of A380 destinations

Emirates, voted the World’s Best Airline 2016 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, announced today that it will operate its flagship A380 on services between Dubai and Guangzhou from 1st October 2016, the 67th National Day of People’s Republic of China. This follows the airline’s recent announcements of A380 deployment on its Milan and Johannesburg routes.

RTA’s 2030 plan approved by Shaikh Mohammad

RTA(The Roads and Transport Authority’s Traffic and Transportation Plan 2030, was recently approved by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The approved plan includes some landmark projects such as Shindagha Crossing and Dubai Water Canal Stations ect.

Burj Plaza Abra Station Launched

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launching of the Burj Plaza station, which will provide more convenience for visitors to view the Dubai Fountain shows.
Work is nearing completion on a new marine station to serve guests of The Palace Hotel, offering residents and guests “access to a hassle-free viewing experience of the Fountain shows”.
Abras operate from 6pm-11 pm during weekdays. Each abra has a capacity to accommodate seven to nine riders.... Read More
