Turkmenistan Airlines resumes twice weekly flights to Abu Dhabi

Turkmenistan Airlines has resumed biweekly flights to Abu Dhabi, it was announced on Sunday.
The direct flights between Ashgabat International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport, which began last month, will operate every Friday and Sunday.
Turkmenistan Airlines will operate the route using its Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a business and economy configuration.

A rare blue diamond worth Dh73 million ($20 million) that was stolen by a transport vehicle worker has been recovered by Dubai Police.
The thief planned to smuggle the precious stone out of the country in his shoe before being foiled by officers.

First lake of liquid water discovered on Mars

AFP -- A massive underground lake has been detected for the first time on Mars, raising the possibility that more water – and maybe even life – exists there, international astronomers said Wednesday.
Located under a layer of Martian ice, the lake is about 12 miles (20 kilometers) wide, said the report led by Italian researchers in the US journal Science.

Saudi Arabia said on Thursday that it was “temporarily halting” all oil shipments through the strategic Red Sea shipping lane of Bab Al-Mandeb after an attack on two big oil tankers by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement.
